You can further specify the top 10 by:

  • main group;

  • subgroup;

  • description.

This gives you more insight into which defects occur frequently and exactly where they come from.

3. Get to work with the data

Use the top 10 to determine targeted improvement actions:

  • Is there a general description in the top 10, such as “Repair paintwork”? If so, filter for the employees who noted these issues. Work together to agree on using more specific descriptions going forward.

  • Does the same issue recur frequently? Compare the top 10 with previous periods or the previous year to see if it’s a trend.

  • The most common issue isn’t always the most expensive one. Compare the top 10 with your failure costs and determine where you can achieve the greatest savings.

  • Filter by the top 10 defect points and compare the performance of team members. Discuss together how these defects can be prevented in future projects.

This structure aligns with the knowledge base style: short paragraphs, clear headings, and practical steps.
