How do I de-duplicate a contact or company?
If the same contacts or companies appear multiple times in your STA environment, you can easily merge them into one contact or company, keeping your relationships clear and avoiding duplicate data. ⚠️ Only users with the Administrator role can merge contacts and companies.

Merge Contacts
Step 1: Open Contacts
Go to:
Relationships → Contacts
Then search for the contact you want to merge.
Step 2: Select the duplicate contacts
Check all the contacts that need to be merged.
You can do this by clicking the checkbox next to the profile photo or initials.
Then click on:
Merge
Step 3: Choose the primary contact
Select the contact you want to keep.
This will become the primary contact and will be the only one retained.
Then click:
Merge

What happens when you merge contacts?
The primary contact automatically takes over the data from the other contacts.
This includes
recording points in which the contact is involved;
recording points where the contact is the action holder;
project links;
project roles and relationships.
Here's what happens next
the remaining contacts are removed;
open notifications are closed;
Pending QHSE Planner tasks are deleted.
❗ Merging contacts cannot be undone.
Merging companies
Step 1: Open Companies
Go to:
Contacts → Companies
Then find the company you want to merge.
Step 2: Select the duplicate companies
Check all the companies that need to be merged.
Then click on:
Merge
Step 3: Choose the primary company
Select the company you want to keep.
This will become the main business and will be the only one that remains.
Then click:
Merge

What happens when companies are merged?
This is what happens
all contacts from the other companies are linked to the main company;
contacts will continue under the main company’s details.
Here’s what happens next
the other companies are removed from the system.
❗ Library rights from other companies are not automatically transferred.
❗ Is an old company linked as a responsible party or reviewer?
If so, you must relink it to the main company.
❗ Merging companies cannot be undone.
